The Lego Movie

First good movie of the year. Honestly, I did not have high expectations for this movie at first but it totally delivered one hundred percent! First of all, the voice acting is so talented it was fantastic. It really makes you feel for the characters and the humor is so layered and clever I'm sure I missed so much of it because the movie is so packed with jokes. I was so invested in the movie the entire time and by the end I swear to god I teared up. The animation is so well done and is the perfect blend of stop motion and visual effects! If this movie does not draw you in from the opening scene then I swear to god you must be dead inside!

Frozen

Yes, it is true, I just saw this movie but it is only now that I had an excuse to (took my little brother)!
I'm going to compare this to Tangled because it was Disney's previous princess movie and lets just say Tangled is so much better! This movie was cute but it really didn't have the same heart as Tangled or any other of the disney princess movies for that matter! It was predictable and a bit annoying at times. The music was excellent but that was really it for this block of ice.

American Hustle

So most people will compare this to the Wolf of Wall Street because I guess they find them similar (which they are not). In this case however I will use that film for a comparison. First off, not as good. Not for a long shot! Don't get me wrong, I appreciate David O' Russel's style of film making as much as the next movie buff, but this one just didn't hit me as fantastic. The acting and writing is superb, I will give it that! But the movie has so many people and tries to fit so much into two hours, it just doesn't    hold up and to be honest, its overall just a little bit all over the place. There is way too much time spent on the less important characters then there needs to be and it just dosen't quite fit together. I would not have known it was supposed to be a comedy if it had not won best comedy at the golden globes because it attempts to be funny but is edited in such an odd way that it just comes out a bit awkward. I was super excited to see this but in the end, a bit of a let down. However, Amy Adams V-Dress makes up for that. That earns a star.

The Wolf of Wall Street

Ok, I am torn between Gravity and this for best picture. The depiction of these assholes were so real and so outrageously funny, I was dying every seen! Of course, Scorsese always delivers without a doubt but a lot of the time his comedy's are a bit under rated so I'm glad his comedic side is fully shown here. I do understand the seriousness of how screwed up the people depicted are, but it is so well executed and so well done that the ridiculousness of the shit they pull is laughable. This movie was so well done and totally had me excited the entire time! They had an orgy on a plane, whats not to love!
